APIs & server-side features
Endpoints, validation, domain logic, and database-backed services for a new or existing application.
WORK DIRECTLY WITH ROBERT GREEN · SOUTHWEST MISSOURI
Behind the interface.
Across your systems.
A useful backend keeps data and work moving, and makes it clear when something needs attention. I develop APIs, server-side features, and integrations between the applications and services you already use.
You can hire me just for the backend. I can work alongside another developer, contribute to an existing product, or connect two systems without taking over the rest of your technology.
WHAT I CAN HELP WITH
Endpoints, validation, domain logic, and database-backed services for a new or existing application.
Connect applications, exchange data, and translate between different interfaces or device protocols within an agreed scope.
Background processing, document or data transformations, reports, and supervised automation with visible progress.
Make failures and partial results understandable. Review queues, timeouts, retries, and recovery behavior where the system needs them.
RELEVANT WORK
OpenLight is the clearest integration example. Second Cursor and the document utilities demonstrate task coordination and controlled processing rather than a claim of universal automation.
One interface for different lighting systems. Commands, observed state, and failures stay visible.
The implementation includes a common lighting API, manufacturer adapters, persisted asynchronous operations, and observed-state handling. This case study describes the local implementation; the public repository may lag those changes. A current controlled hardware demonstration is still pending.
Coordinate AI work, inspect the evidence, and keep correction and completion under human control.
Task tracking, evidence review, bounded corrections, cancellation, and scoped Linux desktop-control mechanisms are implemented. Current end-to-end demonstration is pending. Desktop controls are tied to a constrained Linux/Hyprland setup.
Controlled spreadsheet revisions, formula and style checks, and generated Word/PDF documents.
Purpose-built utilities limit edits and check unchanged formulas, styles, and document structure. These are specialized workflows, not a general accounting or document-validation product.
HOW I APPROACH IT
Identify the systems, interfaces, data, permissions, and existing behavior that the work needs to respect.
Keep requested work, in-progress jobs, observed results, and failures distinguishable to the caller or operator.
Check normal and failure paths within the agreed scope, and leave clear interface and handoff notes.
WORKING TOGETHER
One endpoint, a database-backed feature, an integration, or ongoing backend contributions can each be a separate engagement. I work with the existing team and ownership boundaries.
What needs building, fixing, or improving? A short description is enough.
We agree on the scope, approach, and price before work begins.
I carry out the work and keep you informed as it progresses.
We verify the result and discuss any further support you want.
LET’S TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED
Name the tools or product involved and what you want to connect, change, or automate. Plain language is fine.
